Celebrate the wonder and diversity of pigs with this hand drawn coloured pencil caricature.

British Saddleback Pigs were brought about by cross breeding the Wessex and Essex Saddleback Pigs in order to control the dropping population of both breeds in the late 1960’s.
Saddlebacks are easily recognised by the band of pale hair that covers their upper torso and goes down the front legs, which gives them their name.
They are weighty and deep bodied with black or dark brown bristly hair. A stronger Essex Saddleback influence can be indicated by having pale or white hairs on the hind feet.

I believe we have a great responsibility to these beautiful animals, no matter what your opinions on domestication it is undeniably fascinating, we have made these pigs what they are today and they deserve our love and respect.

The image is handdrawn by me then printed in Leeds on 200gsm 100% recycled paper with a lovely flecked finish.

The picture is A4 size and framable.

Brilliant wall decorations for farm houses and pig enthusiasts.
