Celebrate the wonder and diversity of pigs with this hand drawn coloured pencil caricature.

In the mid 1950’s the Welsh Pig, along with the British Landrace and The Large White, were selected to be one of the main pigs on which the British pig industry should be lead (This also lead to the collapse in numbers of many other marvellous breeds.) Though numbers have dropped in recent years they remain fairly common.
Their name comes from the fact that they were originally bred in Mid and West Wales counties such as Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. They are long bodied with big floppy ears.

I believe we have a great responsibility to these beautiful animals, no matter what your opinions on domestication it is undeniably fascinating, we have made these pigs what they are today and they deserve our love and respect.

The image is handdrawn by me then printed in Leeds on 200gsm 100% recycled paper with a lovely lightly flecked finish.

The picture is A4 size and framable. They are also available along side other pig drawings in sets of three or six.

Brilliant wall decorations for farm houses and pig enthusiasts.
