Celebrate the wonder and diversity of pigs with this hand drawn coloured pencil caricature.
Recognised as a breed in the mid 1880’s The Middle White Pigs Name comes from the fact that they were originally a cross breed from the Large White (Now the most numerous and prolific British breed) and the Small White or Small Yorkshire (Now extinct.)
Full of personality, the Middle White’s are distinguished by their short up turned snouts, scrunched faces and low bodies.
They are also known as The London Porker and The Middle York in Japan where they have become popular.
I believe we have a great responsibility to these beautiful animals, no matter what your opinions on domestication it is undeniably fascinating, we have made these pigs what they are today and they deserve our love and respect.
The image is handdrawn by me then printed in Leeds on 200gsm 100% recycled paper with a lovely lightly flecked finish.
The picture is A4 size and framable.
Brilliant wall decorations for farm houses and pig enthusiasts.
